Adopt-A-Stream - Established Group Procedures

Thank you for your dedication to improving water quality in Prince William County and the Chesapeake Bay!

Established Group Procedures

Step 1: Please choose a date for your cleanup and order any supplies you might need by submitting the Cleanup Event Form.

Step 2: Once you have completed Step 1 contact the AAS Coordinator and arrange to get your supplies from the District office.

Step 3: Once you have your cleanup supplies and are ready to cleanup the stream, make copies of the Liability Release-Safety Guidelines and Sign-in Sheet for the volunteers to sign.**
**VERY IMPORTANT** Each volunteer (including yourself) must sign a Liability Release form and the Sign-in Sheet and have a briefing on, or read, the Safety Guidelines before participating in the stream cleanup.

Step 4: Clean the stream - finally! Please note the number of bags of trash and tires, types of trash and anything unusual that was collected. If you did not arrange for trash pickup (on the Cleanup Event Form you submitted in Step 1) please properly dispose of the trash on your own.

Step 5: Complete and submit the Cleanup Data Form.

Step 6: **VERY IMPORTANT** Please mail all Liability Release Forms and Sign-in Sheets to the Virginia Department of Conservation & Recreation (DCR), Adopt-A-Stream Coordinator, 203 Governor Street, Room 406, Richmond, VA 23219.

Step 7: If you would like to have photos of your cleanup posted on this web site, please send them to kellyjimenez@pwswcd.org .

Step 8: Know that we REALLY appreciate your help in cleaning up our waterways!
