Who We Serve

Educators

Our Education Specialists provide a variety of programs and resources for local educators and students from elementary to high school. We serve over 17,000 students and 800 teachers annually with our classroom education programs, conservation capsules to-go, workshops and resource materials.

All programs and resources meet specific grade level Standards of Learning.

Farmers

Twenty five percent of Prince William County land is zoned agriculture. We provide technical assistance to farmers with specific nutrient management recommendations to efficiently and effectively maximize their production and minimize negative impacts on our waterways. We provide technical assistance for natural resource conservation best management practices and offer tax credits and financial incentives, when appropriate. We also offer seminars on topics of wide interest and we can call in experts from our partner agencies for additional support.

Home Owners

We offer free technical assistance and resources for many great environmentally-friendly projects/programs to make your property more attractive and nature friendly with suitable, eco-friendly landscapes which invite birds, wildlife and butterflies.

We offer information and technical assistance related to outdoor spaces:

Horse Owners

We will introduce you to "Environmentally Sensitive and Sensible Horsekeeping." Topics focus on the management of mud, manure, and pastures. We will provide you with the tools to evaluate your land stewardship skills and the inspiration to begin to make needed changes. We offer technical assistance specifically for your property, free of charge. The steps you take will benefit the aesthetics of your property, the health of your horses, and the local waterways which flow into the Chesapeake Bay. With our expertise you may save money on fertilizer and seeding, e.g., or qualify for tax credits or financial incentives.
